In Mark chapters 2 and 3, Jesus repeatedly confronts a religious system that had lost sight of the heart of God. While the Pharisees focused on rules, rituals, and outward performance, Jesus revealed something greater—God’s mercy for broken people. From forgiving a paralyzed man, to dining with sinners, to healing on the Sabbath, we see that Christ didn’t come to reinforce religion but to restore people.
